The Advantages of Using CSS

When you use CSS (cascading style sheets) to control the basic cosmetics of your web site, you need only to edit those cosmetic properties in one file to update ALL of your web site’s pages. This can be done from your server if your hosting service allows you to edit your site from a control panel, or you can edit the style sheet using a text editor on your system and upload it to your server.

A cascading style sheet (CSS) specifies the possible style sheets or statements that may determine how a given element is presented in a Web page.

Use of CSS is the recommended way of defining how HTML pages are displayed. You should use HTML to define the basic structure (using elements such as br, h1, p, li, etc.) and CSS to define how these elements should appear (e.g. heading should be in bold Arial font, paragraphs should be indented, etc.).
